The following outlines the assessment efforts of the Barber Library Instructional Team for the 2016-17 Academic Year measuring the impact of Foundational Goals and Objectives, Intermediate Goals and Objectives, Advanced Goals and Objectives, and IL Program Support and Sustainability efforts.

Of the 10 full-time classified, administrative, and faculty staff in the library, seven participated in Bobcat Orientation, with six participating in the fall, three in the winter, and one in the spring. The library was represented on the Bend, Redmond, Prineville, and Madras campuses.

Tina was involved in the planning and delivery of the Bobcat Orientation Family and Friends program that runs parallel to the student Bobcat Orientation. Part of the “delivery” involves a tour and orientation to services within the library including Testing & Tutoring and CAP. The feedback was positive, and Tina expects continued participation in the program.

Seven requests for Book A Librarian appointments were made in 2016-17 academic year. Each meeting lasted approximately one hour.

Four librarians were responsible for three sessions outside of COCC classes: Mountain View HS, Seven Peaks Middle School, and the Ganas Summer Symposium. These sessions are a small fraction of the library's instructional sessions.

In 2016-17, five librarians were embedded in 15 classes, including WR95, WR122, WR121, WR227, NUR107. Embedded sessions were assessed in the fall term as part of the campus assessment program, results available at this link.
Librarians met with early childhood education, business, nursing, human development, and culinary departments to discuss integration of information literacy concepts into curriculum. Pilot assignment for HD101 is available at this link.

This was a new addition to curriculum form in 2016-17, and therefore, no responses were received.

There was a small response rate (n=6) that will be addressed in 2017-18 academic year by only accepting results for fall term with Kirsten emailing the survey the last week of courses in fall 2017.
Of the six respondents, all of them said they communicated with the librarian prior to the session, provided a copy of the assignment/syllabus prior to the session, and would recommend an IL Session to another faculty member.

Tina participated in full-time faculty orientation in addition to Kirsten participating in one extended faculty orientation session to talk in more depth about library resources.

Kirsten participated in 6 part-time faculty orientations during the 2016-17 academic year. During the 15-minute session, Kirsten gave a quick example of how difficult it can be for students to evaluate credibility of information and provided an overview of instructional options.

Kirsten remained as library contact for Teaching Commons, monitored faculty achievements for website and contributed to social media. Tamara updated the homepage and events page.

Kirsten met with all IT student workers for staff meetings in Winter and Spring terms. Kirsten organized a once a term staff meeting for LIT Assistants and individually trained three LIT Assistants and seven LIT Assistant substitutes.

Kirsten participated in Winter term Writing Center tutor staff meeting to train them on library resources.

There were no RA or student guide trainings that involved a librarian during the 2016-17 academic year.

Create report detailing library credit classes integrated in CTE degree requirements
During the 2016-17 academic year as part of a collaborative effort, LIB100 was added as a required course for the Business Administration Entrepreneurship certificate, Business Administration Marketing Communications certificate, Business Administration AAS, Hospitality Management AAS, and Hospitality Management certificate, and LIB127 was added as a recommended program elective for Early Childhood Education AAOT. These program changes will become effective during the 2017-18 academic year.
